PDF Reader Pro: Edit & Convert App Bewertungen

5 Sterne

Geld rausgeschmissen :-(

Alles was man braucht

Wandelt in alle Files perfekt um, merged Dateien und seit neuem kann man Signaturen einbringen. allerdings geht das mit der Apple interner Vorschau App auf dem Mauspad um einiges besser.

Easier than Adobe

I have not experienced any problems with this version of PDF Reader Pro. (IMac) I too agree the constant plea for ratings is a tad annoying but nothing I can not live without. Better price than Adobe!

Takes some time

I am very happy with this product. It did take a little time to get used to the layout... But it seems all products must be proprietary these days. I'm happy I have this program in my toolbox. It's handy.

Great app and easy to use.

I use all the the time, I have never had any issues.

Crashes

I have tried everything it just keep chashing can't open a document!

Recent Update

Since the update, the software freezes. It will open, sometimes, but then is frozen, almost every time. I'm looking at other app/software options.

Colorful but plagued with problems

The marketing aspect is superb, but the performance is poor. The bells and whistles work some of the time, but not all the time. Converted documents are hard to store, editing is old-school and difficult, printing is haphazard at best, "imagemask" will ruin your work for no dicernable reason. Net, net...this is not an improvement on the basics. The basics are: correct, improve, convert and send. Two stars would be a generous rating.

Terrible UI

This app needs a serious overhaul of it's user interface. In saying that, the app is completely functional, no bugs or weird things happen like other apps. If I had the choice of having a beautiful app that was a little buggy and a ugly looking app that just worked I would always go with the ugly/functional app.

Don't waste your money

The product won't do what I need it to do. For what I need it's a useless app and I'm stuck with a product I can't use and can't return. Buyer beware!

Mose cursor drags / sticky

When in the app window the mouse cursor sticks/drags/slows down very noticeably. A real pain.

Works but VERY laggy

Using MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) and this app just cannot seem to run smooth. You search a PDF and you might as well go get some lunch. 15.2MB PDF, the search takes FOREVER!!! It consumes as much CPU as it can and jumps to over 4GB of memory use. Maybe a memory leak? Even after the search, the CPU and memory are still being consumed. It is just sitting there, search is done. 95% CPU and 4-5GB memory (total). I see "faults" incrementing continuously in activity monitor. Time to find an alternative.

Stop showing me the rating window!!

I'd rate it 4 at least, but it keeps popping up the rating window. I'm sorry... that is HELLA annoying.

Enough with begging for ratings already

Honestly - if it is a great app you dont have to beg for ratings. OK, its not great but serves its purpose, would have been higher if not the constant bugging.

Simple Text Additions Are a Nightmare

The simplest thing a pdf editor should be able to do is allow you to add text. This is a nightmare in PDF Reader Pro. The text bounced all over rather than stays where you put the cursor, and try to change the text size and then come back to it and add text, and it all disappears. This is absolutely a nightmare. Hours and hours of trying to get this right, and I’m giving up.

Modest price, get’s job done

Documentation is minimal, but is rather simple to use. May not have every feature you want, but for the price it does a great job.

Works but annoying

The software works as advertised; far cheaper than Adobe products. But it is annoying. Continually asking for ratings and a bit quirky. Recommended for ability to convert pdf to jpg and does okay in converting to docx. I just hope this is the last time I asked to provide rating; or the stars will drop.

Converting a PDF to a Doc Image is not conversion

After reading a bunch of stuff including happy reviews I inadvertently and inacurately assumed that this would solve my immediate challenge — converting a PDF version of long document to Word — so I could edit using Track changes in Word for my client. After “converting", I was left with a 27-page image file … to me that’s nothing more than any screen scraper could have done. Of course, it’s too late for me now. They cleverly ensure there’s no free trial period for the “Premium” version. All in all, my fault … how’s that you spell ‘assume’ …

Does What It Says It Will Do!

I have a condition called essential tremor that makes it almost impossible for me to type at the keyboard. Therefore I am dependent upon vocal recognition and the instructions that come with all applications for the Macintosh computer systems. These applications generally come in PDF format and I use PDF READER PREMIUM to read and understand how to use the application. I can take notes and put them into the PDF document, I can underline and highlight pertinent parts of the instructions that I want to remember. After I am through reading and understanding the document I can then convert the PDF document to a pages or a word document. There is not a day that goes by that I do not use PDF READER PREMIUM a great deal.

Core functions don’t work

Running Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5 - cannot use thumbnails on left panel - cannot select or drag them at all. Contacted customer support - they said wait for next version. Next version is out. Still don’t work. Cannot add signatures. As soon as I resize my signature image the software bombs, consistently, over and over agein. Big waste of $26.99

Excelente!!!

Muy útil, fácil de usar y con funciones muy valoradas por mi en mi trabajo diario.

PDF Reader Premium

This is one of the least intuitive pieces of software for Macintosh I have ever tried to use. I have been using computers since they first becme available for businesses, and this reminds me of the blind groping in the dark with DOS 4.0. The selected fonts and colors have nothing to do whith what comes out when you start to type. Most of the tools like the move tool. do nor seem to do anything implied by their name. Worst of all the help files are a total waste of time. It is obvious very little erort was put into this feature. THE FILE CONVERTER DOES NOT WORK. I tried to comvert a short, simple PDF file to a Word document and got sometig that resembled a badly formatted Word document , bur MS Word would not reacognize it. (No it was not locked.) When it came to filling in PDF forms, it was even worse. I gave up and used Apple's Preview, which was awkward, but it got the job done. Maybe if you worked all day with PDF files thie program might eventually get to be comprehensible, but at my hourly rate, buying Adobe Acrobat would be the beter choice.

Stopped Responding

I loved PDF readers when I first started using it because it would keep track of all of my PDF’s with tags and this is helpful as a doctoral student, but then it stopped responding, and won’t work at all. I am mostly upset because I keep attempting to reach out to someone to help, and I never get a reply. Now I spent $40 and cant get it to work.

Its ok

Very disappointed. I’ve had the app for about an hour and have only been able to properly convert 1 pdf file. The whole reason for buying this app was to convert pdfs to .doc, and it hasn’t been very succesful.

Great Alternative to Adobe

Paying a onetime fee for all the functionality and ease of use that this app offers is amazing! In my business I constantly need to split pdfs, combine pdfs and add text. It’s super easy and very user friendly. The only gripe I have is moving between the original features and the new features. I would have a much better user expirience if all of the edit option were on the same work area as opposed to the two different ones. This is a minor complaint and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. Although , to be fair, I could probably watch a tutorial or something

PDF Reader

Cannot do simple edits in PDF such as removing single headers or footers. The rest is okay.

The free version is more stable

I got the free version and used it as a document-management system for my various PDFs. It works OK at that. The paid version, however, just crashes when I try to open documents, or I get the spinning beach ball that never goes away. Tabs also stay open and cannot be closed. Also, opening the app from the dock requires a double-click instead of a single-click. (That’s a nitpick, but it’s those kind of oversights that sink the application.) As a document reader, I’m better off staying with the free version. Although it boasts fewer features, it at least works. The paid version is unusable due to the nonstop hangups and crashing. Like the other reviewers say, I can see the potential — it just needs work. Until then, this is a no-go for me, and I regret spending the money.

Just what I needed

Does exactly as advertised, and works perfect for what I do. Thank you PDF team!

PDF conversion

Please be aware that converting a file to Word, etc. is not the same as OCR. The file merely become a picture inserted into a Word document. Thus this feature is largely useless for most scanned documents since you can insert a scan (PDF or jpg) into Word anyway.

Doesn’t Work Well

I bought this in order to be able to edit PDFs and add text boxes to be able to fill in on the actual field. Did not work….

Great reader for PDFs

I have the full version of Acrobat on my PC and have been saving everything in PDF files. I love the format. So when I got my MAC, I wanted to find a good program to create, save and read PDF files. So far this program has been the best one I have found. I really like this app. 12/19/2014 Update: The only problem I have with the app is the annoying pop-up that opens every time I use the app asking me to review this app again after I have reviewed it.

Great PDF Reader

I love this app. I especially love the library with all my PDF files at my fingertips it really is a great reader! Thanks!

Premier version conversion capability limited

PDF Reader Premier ver 1.1.1 will convert the text of a .pdf document to a .docx document one page at a time. It does not convert or transfer non-text parts of the document. Customer service is by emai, no telephone service. Turnaround time for a request averaged one week. Emails were polite and helpful after we came to an understanding of the problem. The current version does not meet my need.

Need to Redownload

I need to reinstall this app for my iMac, but when I click the download link it states that the App is already installed. How do I download this app again? Is there a file that needs to be deleted from my Mac somewhere that is telling iTunes that it’s already installed?

essential

Very well developed and useful every day. It does way more than you expect.

Looked great in app store - terrible in practice!!!!

I bought this because I was looking for a PDF manager/viewer that would let me manage a large number of PDFs on dropbox or iCloud along with viewing, annotating and most importantly, setting the PDF password. This utility barely does that. In fact, it really does not do anything that you cannot do with finder and preview. It’s a little clunkier with finder and preview but at least finder/preview are stable! Major bug, it cannot easily open PDFs encrypted with AES 128 or 256 - it throws an error and when you try to open it with the manger, it blanks out the document!!!!!!!! It can not do group functions at all i.e. set password for more than one file at a time (batch) - yes it was not listed but I was hopeful. The manager view does not support select all but that does not matter because it does not support batch work. You cannot set an open password independent from the owner password, in other words you have to set both at the same time. (maybe I do not understand PDF security!) For conversion to Word - please keep in mind that your PDF document has to already have a Word like format (like created from Word in the first place) in order for the conversion to produce anything. Also, crashes when I heavily annotate PDF, which is no problem for preview. I wish I saved my money. In fact, I think that all the positive reviews that I read are from friends and family of the developers!!!!! Gosh - can I get my money back!!!!!!

Seems to be working well

I have had a few crashes, but all it all it works quite well.

A bargain for what it can do

I almost shy away from it because its price tag. Like many others my life depends on PDFs and the ability to "maneuver" them. I need to constantly do extensive editing with my PDFs and occasionally converting them into DOCs. This app makes all the complications a breeze as I now can pretty much do all I need to do - combining PDFs, pick a page from a PDF, insert it into another one, and make it a new file, annotate etc. A great app worth the price.

Gotta love the update

I previously went with this app because the rich features the screenshots suggest. I’m glad that I didn’t cheap down. Conversion works beyond expectations, tables and templates help a great deal, form filling and the annotation tools are a huge plus, and it also supports inserting pages into the existing PDFs. I also like the way the app helps manage the files, the tags help mark files based on different uses of them. I think they charge the price for a reason and that’s well justified. I really think the developer went above and beyond with the update. I am glad that I made a decision of buying this app, I’ve spent way too much money buying apps from others who don’t keep up with the quality and make their apps only a one-shot deal.

Love this, I am not easy

I am a picky person when it comes to programs and Apps. They did not miss much on this one and it works very nice. I look up items in a catalog on 3 different devices, and they all work well. I dropped the coin 28 bucks for the premium version. You can’t go wrong. e

Extremely poor selection of editing tools

I purchased this application specifically to be able to edit PDF’s. Having purchased the application, I find the selection of editing tools absolutely pityfull making the application virtually useless as far as I am concerned. The conversion process to Word works even worse. The first example of conversion converted a 20 page PDF to 20 pages of symbols and an html file with random words. I believe the description of the capabilities of this product to be highly over-rated.
